How am I going to be safe from wild animals on a bike?

Action Bike Tours has experienced guides who prioritize the safety of our clients. If we encounter an animal on your bike tour, we will watch from a safe distance and allow animals to move away before proceeding.

Remember these three rules if you find yourself near a wild animal:

  1. Give the animals space! Do not get close to the animals.
  2. Keep quiet. Do not make loud noises.
  3. No sudden movements.

What animals can I expect to see?

The Nature bike tour ventures into the Reserve land of the Musi-oa-tunya National park, which is home to many species. The most common animals seen on a bike tour are zebras, giraffes, baboons and elephants. Please note that since we will be in the animal’s natural environment, we cannot guarantee animal sightings on bike tours.

Can I do the bike tour if I am not very fit?

Yes! Fortunately, you will not need to join the Tour de France to enjoy your day. On each bike tour, Action tour guides cycle at the pace of the clients and allow for rest stops whenever they would like.

Water and soft drinks are provided as part of every tour.

How hot will the temperature be on my bike safari?

Temperatures vary depending on the time of year you visit our beautiful country, but you can typically expect sunny skies. Make sure to bring your sunscreen and a hat!

Water will be provided for each tour.

What is the age range of people you take with you?

Action Bike tours are suitable for ages 10 and up. All tours are family friendly and cycle at your own pace. If you can ride a bike, we can customize a tour for you! Smaller bikes will be available for children if needed.

What if I would rather have a safari from a vehicle?

We will happily book that for you! We provide safaris in Musi-oa-tunya National Park in Livingstone and Chobe National Park, just across the border in Botswana.

(As of March 2022, No COVID-19 testing is required for vaccinated travellers for a day trip to Botswana. Please note that these requirements could change at any time. Action guides will stay up to dates on all requirements and will let you know what is needed at time of booking.)
